Today I asked the Culture Secretary about the need to support charities like Mountbatten Hampshire a hospice I have worked with in my time as an MP, and the threat that the recently announced rise in Employer National Insurance Contributions will have on them. Hospices provide such important end-of-life and respite care in our communities and it is vital they get more help to keep their amazing services running. This is so important, especially as Parliament is considering the assisted dying Bill tomorrow. The Government has a chance to, exempt charities from these tax rises and to provide more funding to ensure that families and friends have a chance to be with their loved ones when the time comes to say goodbye in a dedicated setting, and I look forward to engaging further with the Culture Secretary and Health Secretary on this matter.
