It was great to visit Hamble School to meet students and staff on Friday. I met the student leadership team who are leading the way in saying no to the local quarry.
The quarry would disrupt pupils in getting to school due to traffic, their learning due to noise, and their health due to dust. It is clear that the quarry is not suitable due to these reasons. I fully support the school in opposing the quarry.
It was also good to hear from staff about the changes to leadership and working models to improve the school, and to help make improvements in teaching and learning.
