Last week I spoke in the debate named in honour of my friend and colleague Sir David Amess, a great parliamentarian taken from us before his time.
In the debate, I spoke about the need for the new Labour Government to carry on the commitment from the previous government to fully fund accessible lifts at Hedge End and Swanwick Stations in my constituency. They have so far not done so.
We need to make sure the government does not go back on a promise made to us, we are not asking for a huge sum of money, but the upgrade will make a huge difference to the quality of life of people travelling to and from Hedge End and Swanwick. I will keep the pressure up.
