On Wednesday I drew attention to the amazing work of the Hamble Lifeboat and asked the Prime Minister what more can be done to support independent lifeboat stations.
Hamble Lifeboat responds to over 100 incidents each year in the Solent, which is one of the UK's busiest waterways. The pandemic has increased the cost of their operations while also limiting their ability to fundraise. It is absolutely essential that we continue to help the volunteers that operate independent lifeboat stations because these volunteers are always there for us in a time of need.
I am continuing to work with other MPs across the country about how we protect and promote the vital work of independent lifeboats stations and there are some exciting plans in train that will help us do this.
