I have today written to the Leader of Eastleigh Borough Council and asked him to confirm there are no current or future plans for an 'Allington Town' to be developed. You can see my letter below.
Many residents have contacted about their concerns when new road signs were installed for 'Allington'. Local residents will know there is no such place although the Council has previously considered plans for such a development as part of the Local Plan (Option D) and as a separate new development. These plans could means 3,350 extra houses at this site. The Council also own land at this location.
I don't believe that this development would be right for the area, especially when the Council are already taking forward plans for 2,500 houses at One Horton Heath which sits to the east of Allington Lane. This could be almost 6,000 houses in total on Allington Lane. However, if they are developing plans, this information needs to be made available to the public.
