Today I asked the Labour Leader of the House of Commons whether the new Government would stick to the pledge made by the Conservatives in the last Parliament to fund the much-needed upgrades to Swanwick and Hedge End stations which I have been campaigning for.
I was deeply concerned that the Leader of the House would not commit to this promise, nor would she even meet my request for a debate on this matter. This is the same old Labour Party, saying one thing on the campaign trail and then once they have taken their voters for granted, turn their back on us and break their promises as soon as they are in power.
Rest assured, I will continue my campaign for this funding, just as I will continue to fight for the interests of Hamble Valley for as long as I am your MP.
